Setting the Scene...
In the final contest prior to heading home for the Christmas holiday, the 14th-ranked Duke women's basketball team (9-2) will host Wyoming (7-3) Thursday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m., in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Thursday's contest will be aired live on the ACC Network Extra. It will also be carried on the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network via 620 AM, 99.3 FM, 96.5 FM, TuneIn Radio app and www.GoDuke.com with Chris Edwards on the air beginning at 6:45 p.m.
What is Next?...
Duke will head home for the Christmas holiday and will have five days off before reporting back to campus for practice. The Blue Devils will host Liberty Dec. 29 at 7 p.m., in their next contest in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Three Keys...
• In two straight starts, Haley Gorecki has averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals. She totaled a career-high 20 points against Winthrop and registered her first career double-double against Maine with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
• Duke has won 15 straight home games in the month of December. The Blue Devils have won 23 out of its last 24 home contests in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The lone loss was to Oregon in the 2017 NCAA Tournament second round.
• In her 11th year with the Blue Devils and 26th overall season as a head coach, Joanne P. McCallie is only two wins shy of reaching the 600-win mark.
Storylines/Other Blue Devil Notes...
• Duke has held back-to-back opponents to under 40 points for only the fourth time in school history and the second time under the direction of Coach P (2009-10, 1998-99, 1996-97). The Blue Devils have never held three straight opponents to under 40 points.
• Duke leads the ACC in paint defense, only allowing 17.1 points in the paint per game. The next closest teams are Clemson and Miami with a 19.82 average.
• Fifth-year senior Rebecca Greenwell missed the Winthrop and Maine contests with knee pain and is listed as day-to-day.
• Lexie Brown has missed only 15 free throws out of 183 attempts over her two years at Duke.
• The Blue Devils have won 21 straight games when hitting the 70-point mark.
• A total of eight different Blue Devils have now started games, after Faith Suggs made her first start against Maine.
• After scoring four points over her first nine collegiate games, Jayda Adams has totaled 13 points over the last two contests against Maine and Winthrop. She hit 5-of-10 field goals and 3-of-7 treys. Adams scored a career-high eight points off the bench against Maine.
• Duke has hit 50.0 percent of its field goals in each of the last three games. In those contests, Duke has hit 57.2 percent from the field.
• After scoring a combined 30 points against Old Dominion and Oregon State, Leaonna Odom has gone five straight contests without scoring double-digits. She has averaged only 6.0 points and 6.8 rebounds the last five games.
• Over the last three games, Duke has come out of the gate on fire hitting 61.1 percent from the field in the first half and averaged 44.7 points. Lexie Brown has averaged 15.3 points in the first half and hit 76.9 percent from the field over the last three contests.
• Rebecca Greenwell has been limited to 6-of-18 field goals and 0-of-7 from three-point land over the last two games. It marked only the second time in her career she has been held without a three-pointer in back-to-back contests.
• Blue Devil redshirt senior Rebecca Greenwell needs two three-pointers made to break Duke's all-time treys mark of 252 held by Tricia Liston (2011-14). Greenwell owns 251 in 107 games.
• Lexie Brown has swiped 19 steals the last three games and ranks ninth nationally (1st in ACC) with a 3.8 per game average. Her 42 steals is the third-most among power five conferences.
• On two occasions this season, Lexie Brown has nearly registered a triple-double. Against UNCG, she had 20 points, nine assists, a career-high tying eight steals and seven rebounds. At ODU, she had 28 points, eight assists and eight rebounds.
• The Blue Devils currently lead the ACC and rank ninth nationally with a 41.1 three-point field goal percentage.
• Rebecca Greenwell became just the 11th player in Duke history to reach the 1,600-point mark with her 19 points against Ohio State. She needs only two points to move into a tie for 10th place on the Duke career list along with Georgia Schweitzer (1,620).
• Lexie Brown of Duke (20.5 points, T2nd; 4.9 assists, T6th) and Paris Kea of North Carolina (20.5 points, T2nd; 6.8 assists, fourth) are the only two players in the ACC to rank in the top six in both points and assists.
• Rebecca Greenwell became the first Duke player to amass 1,500 points, 600 rebounds and 200 made three-pointers at Villanova. Greenwell could also become the third guard in Blue Devil history to register 1,500 points and 700 rebounds along with Monique Currie and Alana Beard. Greenwell currently owns 1,618 points and 637 rebounds.
• Lexie Brown has played in the ACC for two different teams (2013-14 at Maryland; 2016-17 at Duke) and holds the best career free throw percentage in those contests (88.1). Duke's Nicole Erickson ranks second with an 88.0 mark.
• Rebecca Greenwell's 251 three-pointers over her career ranks tied 14th on the ACC career charts and needs two more to move into 10th.
• Graduate transfer Bego Faz Davalos owns 353 career blocks and needs only six to move into a tie for 27th on the NCAA all-time blocks list.
• All 29 of Duke's 2017-18 contests will be aired on some type of television between ESPN3, ACC Network Extra, ESPN2, RSN-TV, SEC Network and Nova Nation.

Wyoming enters the contest with a 7-3 overall record and winners of three in a row. The team has been led by Liv Roberts (11.2 points, 6.0 rebounds), Bailee Cotton (9.4 points, 5.4 rebounds), Taylor Rusk (8.6 points, 15 treys) and Marta Gomez (8.1 points, 16 treys).
The Cowgirls own a 2-1 record on the road this season.

Brown Heating Up...
Duke fifth-year senior Lexie Brown has been on fire over the last three game averaging 25.3 points,6.3 steals, 6.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds.
During that stretch, she has hit 70.2 percent of her field goals and 42.9 percent from three-point land.
It marks the second time in her Duke career she has posted three straight games with 20 or more points.
In the ACC stats, Brown ranks tied second in scoring (20.5), first in steals (3.8), fifth in field goal percentage (55.3), second in free throw percentage (88.6) and tied sixth in assists (4.9).
Nationally, Brown ranks 24th in scoring, 65th in assists, ninth in steals and 56th in field goal percentage.
Gorecki Shines...
Making her first start of the season and second of her collegiate career, redshirt sophomore Haley Gorecki tallied a career-high 20 points in 29 minutes against Winthrop prior to exam break.
She hit a career-high 5-of-7 treys and 7-of-11 field goals, while tallying four assists and three rebounds.
In two straight starts, Gorecki has averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals. She has hit 7-of-14 three-pointers.
Boykin to Miss Remainder of 2017-18...
Duke freshman guard Mikayla Boykin will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season after suffering a left knee injury in the Blue Devils' 101-30 win over Winthrop Sunday, Dec. 10.
Boykin started the first eight contests of the season and averaged 4.6 points, 3.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals a game. The 5-9 guard from Clinton, N.C., opened her collegiate career on the road at Grand Canyon with a season-high 12 points and was a preseason ACC Newcomer Watch List selection.
At Home in 2017-18...
Duke boasts a 7-0 record at home this season, including two victories over ranked opponents.
Lexie Brown (22.3 points), Rebecca Greenwell (15.0 points), Leaonna Odom (10.0 points) and Erin Mathias (9.9 points) have paced the Blue Devils in those games. Brown has hit 15-of-31 for a 48.4 percentage. Odom is pulling down 8.6 rebounds as well, while hitting 66.0 percent from the field.
As a team, Duke is averaging 78.9 points and hitting 53.0 percent from the field in Cameron.
Lambert to Miss 2017-18 Season...
Junior Kyra Lambert announced she will miss the 2017-18 season, after suffering a torn ACL in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
Lambert will have two years of eligibility remaining. She has started 56-of-65 games as a Blue Devil.
