DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Athletics finished the 2015-16 campaign ranked 24th in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings as announced Friday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.
Duke secured 804.00 total points and is among six ACC schools ranked in the top 25, joining North Carolina (7th, 1089.50), Virginia (8th, 1088.50), Notre Dame (17th, 894.50), Syracuse (21st, 853.00) and Florida State (22nd, 833.0). Stanford won the cup with 1526.00 points.
In the spring season, Duke earned points in baseball (25), women's golf (82.5), men's golf (25.5), women's lacrosse (53), men's lacrosse (25), rowing (40), women's tennis (50) and women's track & field (35.5). The Blue Devils earned 218.00 points in the fall and 249.50 points during the winter.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 20 sports – 10 women's and 10 men's.
