NORWALK, Calif. – Wrapping up the fourth and final day of the Mt. Sac Relays Saturday in Norwalk, Calif., the Duke women's sprinters had the opportunity to test their abilities against some of the best in the sport.
The relay squad of redshirt senior Teddi Maslowski, junior Madeline Kopp, freshman MacKenzie Kerr and sophomore Maddy Price highlighted the day by placing second in the Women's 4x400 Invitational event with a combined time of 3:35.07, the third-fastest performance in school history. The Blue Devil quartet was the first collegiate team to cross the line, finishing only behind a relay team that boasted three Olympic medalists, including Allyson Felix, Dawn Harper-Nelson and Jeneba Tarmoh.
Earlier in the day, Kopp competed in the Women's 400 Invitational race. The junior out of Rochester, N.Y., clocked a 53.89 to place 11th overall.
The Blue Devils will resume action next weekend by hosting the annual Duke Invitational April 22-23 at Morris Williams Stadium. Admission to the meet will be free to spectators.
