DURHAM, N.C.—It's game week. What does that mean? What goes into preparing your team for a contest a day prior to the game? In the final coaches clinic of 2016, Duke head coach John Danowski and assistant coach Ron Caputo talked about how to prepare for a game.
The duo covered everything from what works well in a final practice to ideas of what coaches can do the night prior. They also talked at length about in-game tactics – your body language as a coach, your tone, etc. – as well as breaking down how to talk to your team after a game, win or lose.
In addition to talking about game week, Danowski relayed word to all coaches near and far they are welcome to attend a Duke practice. He outlines the practice times and how to reach out to them to attend. Nearly every Duke practice is open to coaches who would like to attend and watch.
The December installment of the clinics was the final one of the year. For anyone who missed any of the previous three, all of the archives are listed below.
