
Lapidus, Pura Capture Red Doubles Title in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. – Senior TJ Pura and sophomore Jason Lapidus captured Saturday's Red Draw doubles championship at the Wolfpack Invite hosted by N.C. State.
Pura and Lapidus cruised to the doubles title with an 8-2 victory against Mario Paccini and Neal Port of Elon. The Duke duo went 3-0 this weekend and improved to 3-3 this fall paired together.
In singles, freshman Robert Levine opened the day in singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory against James Madison's Damon Roberts to advance to the semifinals. Levine's run ended with a 6-4, 6-3 setback to Alexis Galarneau of N.C. State. Levine is now 6-5 this fall.
Sophomore Ryan Dickerson also reached the semifinals after topping Igor Saveljic of N.C. State 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinal. Dickerson was halted by the Wolfpack's Nick Horton, the No. 2 seed in the draw and No. 39 player in the preseason Oracle/ITA rankings, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5. Dickerson upped his singles mark this fall to 3-2.
Pura dropped his quarterfinal match to Horton, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Pura owns the second-most singles wins on the squad this fall with a 6-5 mark.
