Completed Event: Men's Lacrosse versus Georgetown on May 10, 2025 , Loss , 12, to, 16

10/21/2016 8:00:00 AM | Men's Lacrosse
DURHAM, N.C.—Over 120 former Duke men's lacrosse players will descend upon Durham this weekend for the annual Duke Lacrosse Alumni Weekend. Head coach John Danowski is thrilled to welcome so many alums back to campus for a weekend of reflecting on memories, building new relationships and of course a little bit of lacrosse.
The list of former players returning to campus spans six decades from those who graduated in the 1960s to the most recent 2016 graduates. The Blue Devils are traveling to Durham from as far away as San Francisco and as close as Durham and Winston-Salem.
On tap for the weekend is a variety of scheduled activities starting with a golf outing at the pristine Duke University Golf Course Friday afternoon. They all will reconvene Friday evening after hitting the links for a reception and a time to reconnect and celebrate at a reception in the amazing new Blue Devil Tower.
After what is bound to be a night of little rest, the former and current players will get together to play a little lacrosse. The opening game will feature the “Legends” in a blue vs. white affair at 1 p.m. The current Blue Devils will take on the most recent alumni in the second game of the afternoon at approximately 2:30. The games will take place on the turf fields along Frank Bassett Drive.
The festivities culminate with Duke men's basketball Countdown to Craziness Saturday evening. The event is the first look at the talented 2016-17 Blue Devils in a Blue vs. White scrimmage at approximately 8:30 p.m.
There is certainly going to be no shortage of laughter and fun to be had by all and a constant reminder that once a Blue Devil always a Blue Devil. #ForeverDuke
