DURHAM, N.C. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced Wednesday the Fall Scholar All-America Teams, with the Blue Devil women and men both receiving the distinction for the previous semester.
The Duke women compiled a collective grade point average of 3.41 to rank second among the 10 ACC women's squads that earned Scholar All-America recognition. The men tied for first among the nine ACC teams to net the accolade with a combined grade point average of 3.18 for the fall.
In addition, Duke was one of eight ACC institutions to have both the women's and men's teams receive the academic honor.
Overall, 547 swimming and diving teams representing 354 colleges and universities across all the divisions were named Scholar All-America teams. The awards are in recognition of squads that achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall 2015 semester.
