DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke defensive lineman Jordan DeWalt-Ondijo has agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles to join the NFL organization as an undrafted free agent.
In 45 career games with 22 starts, including all 13 of his senior year, DeWalt-Ondijo posted 90 tackles, including 14.5 stops for lost yardage and 10.0 sacks. The Prairie View, Texas, product was credited with nine quarterback pressures, four caused fumbles and one fumble recovery during his time with the Blue Devils.
DeWalt-Ondijo booked a career-high 2.0 sacks in contests at Troy (2014) and Virginia (2013) and turned in six career contests with five or more tackles. He also recorded a personal-best seven tackles against Tulane in 2014.
During his final campaign, he started all 13 games at defensive end and booked 45 tackles with a 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 quarterback sacks, four quarterback pressures, two caused fumbles and one fumble recovery. His tackle total led all Blue Devil defensive linemen while his TFL, sack and QB pressure totals were good for the second most of any Duke player.
He logged four games with five or more tackles, including a personal-best seven against Tulane. Also against the Green Wave, DeWalt-Ondijo recorded a year-high two quarterback pressures and 2.0 hits for lost yardage. He made five tackles with a sack in a 31-25 victory at No. 22 Georgia Tech, helping Duke recorded a road win against a ranked opponent in consecutive years for the first time since 1970-71. A disruptor in the backfield, DeWalt-Ondijo caused and recovered a fumble against North Carolina and forced a fumble against No. 15 Arizona State in the Hyundai Sun Bowl.
