DURHAM, N.C. – After originally opening the NWSL preseason camp with FC Kansas City, Duke University alumna
Kim DeCesare has been signed by Sky Blue FC as the season opens this weekend.
DeCesare will join the club upon the receipt of her International Transfer Certificate.

Kim DeCesare is someone who we have been watching for quite some time,” head coach Jim Gabarra said. “She is a versatile and athletic player who provides coverage and depth, not only up front but also in the defensive midfield.”
A native of Massapequa Park, N.Y., DeCesare joins Sky Blue after spending the preseason with defending NWSL champion FC Kansas City. DeCesare played with the Boston Breakers after being selected by them in the 2014 college draft. The New York native recently finished a season with Eskilstuna United DFF of the Damallsvenskan, the top women's league in Sweden.
After moving to the forward position as a junior, DeCesare flourished as a scorer for the Blue Devils posting 22 goals in 2012 and 2013. For her career, she finished with 29 goals, 15 assists and 73 points. DeCesare's 29 goals ranked sixth all-time at Duke and her 73 points were ninth. As a senior, she earned All-ACC Third Team accolades, while being selected to the All-ACC Second Team her junior campaign. DeCesare concluded her career with nine game-winning goals and six contests with two more tallies.
