Prior to Duke: Rodgers was a three-time conference player of the year at Kettle Run and received recognition on the national level as a member of the 2013 and 2014 Under Armour All-America underclass teams. Also a two-time Brine High School All-American for the Washington, D.C., region, she finished her prep career with 303 goals, 63 assists, 228 ground balls, 460 draw controls and 115 caused turnovers. Rodgers led Kettle Run to a district title her senior year and earned first team all-state honors.
What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
MR: Beating our county rival to win the district championship my senior year. We lost to them previously in the season, so it was a great feeling to come back and win.
When did you start playing lacrosse?
MR: Before I was on a team, I used to play lacrosse with my older brother in our backyard. He was the one to introduce me to the sport. In third grade I started playing youth and picked up travel in eighth.
Who has had the biggest impact on your life?
MR: My parents. They have been incredibly supportive of everything that I do and always continue to be such positive role models.
Why did you choose Duke?
MR: The main attraction was the academic rigor, fantastic lacrosse program and knowing that I was going to be challenged in the classroom just as much as I would be on the field. When I visited other schools I found myself comparing every one to Duke and I could not imagine going anywhere else.
What are your goals for your collegiate career?
MR: Become the best player and teammate that I can be and hopefully win a national championship.

Pre-game ritual/superstition: I must have my nails painted and I roll out my legs with a muscle roller.
If you were to play another sport, what would it be? Soccer
Interesting fact about yourself: I know the lyrics to almost every T-Pain, Akon or Lil Wayne song written around 2008
What do you plan to major in? Psychology
Best advice you've received: When I was 10, my travel soccer coach, Kyle England, told me that you're not going to get better by just going to your team practice. He said in order to truly advance as an athlete, you must put in the time and practice on your own. I vividly remember him telling me, “You do not get better here at practice, you get better in your front yard”.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully starting a family and working as a sports psychologist
To be a part of the Duke women's lacrosse program is … an honor. I am incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such a well-rounded and high achieving group of teammates and coaches.
