DURHAM, N.C.—Duke men's lacrosse head coach John Danowski is excited to welcome back 80-plus former players back to Durham this weekend for the annual lacrosse alumni weekend. Highlighting the weekend of events will be a pair of games held at the turf fields at the West Practice Complex along Frank Bassett Drive.
The first game, featuring those alumni with more “life experience” in Danowski's words will begin at 1 p.m. The second game, beginning at approximately 3 p.m., will pit the Duke lacrosse alumni All-Stars against the current Blue Devils squad.
Following the fun-filled action on the field the alumni will get together to attend the men's basketball Countdown to Craziness event in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The 2014 NCAA Champion Blue Devils will be honored at the event and Danowski will serve as a judge for the dunk contest.
Fans are welcome and encouraged to come to the alumni games on the turf fields, but viewing will have to take place outside of the fence for safety reasons.
Parking will be available in the 751 lot off of Science Drive. Those arriving after 2:30 p.m., will have to pay $10 to park in public lots on the main campus due to the men's basketball event.
