DURHAM, N.C. -- This week's edition of the Duke Football Summer Spotlight features redshirt junior quarterback Brandon Connette. Connette lined up all over the field in 2012, seeing time at tight end, H-back, slot receiver, wildcat quarterback and even safety. He ranked second on the team in touchdown responsibilty last season, accounting for 12 scores which trailed only the 20 touchdowns created by starting quarterback Sean Renfree.
Connette is among the most versatile players in the ACC, posting a career stat line of 16-for-37 passing for 198 yards and three touchdowns, 127 rushes for 398 yards and 17 touchdowns and 11 receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. He enters the 2013 season listed as the second string quarterback, but the Blue Devils will take advantage of his unique skillset by lining him up at different spots.
The Duke Football Summer Spotlight runs every Wednesday on GoDuke.com. Be sure to check back next week for the newest installment.
