DURHAM, N.C. -- This week's summer spotlight features Issac Blakeney, a redshirt junior wide receiver who appeared in all 13 games for Duke last season.
Blakeney, a 6-6, 235-pound wide receiver, caught 32 passes for 290 yards and one touchdown as a redshirt sophomore. He had at least one reception in 12 consecutive games, including a career-long 54-yard touchdown catch against N.C. Central on Sept. 15.
Blakeney, who played high school football and basketball alongside fellow Duke receiver Jamison Crowder, spent a portion of 2012 as a tight end but made the switch to wide receiver late in the season. Now with a full spring training as a receiver under his belt, Blakeney enters the 2013 season as one of Duke's top wideouts.
The Duke Football Summer Spotlight will run every Wednesday during the summer, leading up to the start of football camp in August.
