Coaching Clinic Outline l Watch Live
DURHAM, N.C.-The first of five coaching clinics put on by the Duke men's lacrosse staff will take place tonight from 7 -9 p.m., in the Murray Building. And for the first time the clinics will be streamed live and free of charge on GoDuke.com. The clinic will talk about the basics of being a coach and running a program and will encompass video as well as questions and answers from those attending.
To log on to watch the clinic, simply go to GoDuke.com and click on the Inside Access window on the right side of the page.
Head coach John Danowski and assistant coaches Ron Caputo and Chris Gabrielli all will address the value, challenges, and the science versus art of coaching. The session also will address what works best for a certain group in terms of size, skill level and expectations from the players and parents.
A third part will talk about how to adapt to those you are working with and setting reachable goals and how to achieve those throughout the year.
They will discuss how to run a practice and will give examples of an outline of a regular Duke practice during the season.
For those who would like a preview of what will be discussed and addressed in the first clinic can look at the PowerPoint presentation prepared by the coaching staff. Click here to view the PDF copy.
