HIDALGO, Texas - Jon Scheyer started at the guard position in game one of the NBA Development League finals on Sunday at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas.
Scheyer scored 12 points in 32 minutes while adding one rebound, four assists and two steals for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The Vipers took a 123-106 loss to the Iowa Energy in the first game of the series.
In the postseason, Scheyer has started all six games, averaging 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. During the season he played in 16 games with 11 starts after joining the club midway through the year. He averaged 13.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Game two of the best of three finals series will be on Wednesday and will be televised nationally on VERSUS. The time of the game is to be determined.
