Sophomore Jordan Wolf, junior David Lawson and redshirt senior Justin Turri were voted to the second team, while senior Robert Rotanz earned an honorable mention nod. Duke was one of five teams to have multiple players on the first team and one of three programs to have six players listed overall.
Costabile, a longstick midfielder, earned USILA All-America third team honors in 2011 after helping lead Duke to its fifth straight national semifinal. Costabile anchored Duke's faceoff game, winning 97-of-186 restarts. He led all Blue Devils with 95 ground balls and ranked second on the team with 23 caused turnovers. An All-ACC selection last season, Costabile netted two goals and five assists for nine points. For his career, he has played in 59 games with 15 goals, 16 assists, 232 ground balls and a .533 win percentage at the faceoff X.
Manley returns to the Duke close defense after missing the 2011 season due to injury. A three-year starter for the Blue Devils, the Keuka Park, N.Y., native earned USILA All-America third team honors in 2010 and was selected to the NCAA All-Tournament team. He has helped the Blue Devils defense post an 8.23 goals against average in his three seasons. In 2010, Manley compiled 17 caused turnovers and a career-best 44 ground balls. For his career he has two goals and two assists to go with 101 ground balls in 55 games of action.
Wolf, an attackman, is Duke's top returning scorers after tallying 31 goals and 20 assists for 51 points as a rookie. A USILA All-America honorable mention pick, Wolf also collected All-ACC recognition as a freshman. He had at least one point in 15 games and registered multiple points in 12 of those outings. The Wynnewood, Pa., native tallied a career-high seven points (4g, 3a) in Duke's win over Georgetown and netted the game-winning goal in overtime against then-No. 3 Maryland in the regular season.
A midfielder, Lawson had an outstanding sophomore season. He led all Duke midfielders in scoring with 23 goals and nine assists for 32 points. He tallied a point in all but two games and had seven multiple-point efforts. Lawson earned ACC All-Tournament team recognition after netting seven goals in the two games, including a career-high four in the semifinal win over Virginia. For his career, Lawson has played in 40 games with eight starts, scoring 32 points and picking up 47 ground balls.
Turri is back as a redshirt senior after helping anchor Duke's midfield the previous three years. Turri, a captain in 2011, finished last season with 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points. A USILA All-America second team choice, he posted at least one point in 15 contests and had eight multiple-point outings. He had two goals in Duke's NCAA quarterfinal victory over Notre Dame as well as two tallies in the Blue Devils' regular season victory at North Carolina. For his career, Turri has played in 54 games with 49 starts, scoring 51 goals, 39 assists for 90 points.
Rotanz, a two-year starter in the midfield, ranked fifth on the team in scoring last season with 23 goals and five assists for 28 points. He was an All-America honorable mention selection and came on strong late in the 2011 season with 14 goals and two assists in the final nine games. Rotanz threw in a career-high four goals and five points overall in the regular season win over Virginia and also had four goals against Denver. For his career, Rotanz has played in 57 games with 27 starting assignments and scored 38 goals, 10 assists for 48 points.
Duke officially kicks off the season Feb. 11 versus Rutgers at 1 p.m., at Koskinen Stadium.
