Duke to Take Part in Konica Minolta Big City Classic

DURHAM, N.C.-For the second consecutive year the Duke University men's lacrosse team will take part in the Konica Minolta Big City Classic, Bob Carpenter, publisher of Inside Lacrosse Magazine, announced today. The Blue Devils will take on Syracuse on April 1 at 4 p.m., at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
"Konica Minolta's sponsorship deal with us a few years ago was a true milestone for Inside Lacrosse and the sport," said IL's Bob Carpenter. Syracuse and Duke will be facing each other for the second consecutive season and for just the eighth time in the two programs' histories. The Orange held off a late rally by the Blue Devils to win 13-11 in the 2011 Konica Minolta Big City Classic. This will be the fifth regular season meeting between the two squads with Syracuse holding a 3-1 lead in those previous four outings.
Under the direction of sixth-year head coach John Danowski, the Blue Devils welcome a talented group of eight freshmen to the team. Duke returns 32 players, including four All-America choices, from last year's squad that finished 14-6 and advanced to the NCAA semifinals.
Inside Lacrosse has established the standard for the promotion of lacrosse with its event properties. These events have brought unprecedented excitement and fan interest to college lacrosse's regular season. Inside Lacrosse has drawn more than 200,000 fans to its 10 events, including 42,172 fans to its two events in 2011.
Tickets for the 2012 editions of the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic and the Konica Minolta Big City Classic will go on sale Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. EST. All seating locations at M&T Bank Stadium and MetLife Stadium will be reserved for these events. Prices for the 2012 Konica Minolta Big City Classic are: $75 for Coaches Club seats; $45 for West Midfield seats (Lower Level); $45 for the Touchdown Club (Mezzanine) seats; $25 for Lower Level reserved seats; $20 for groups of 10 or more; and $15 for groups of 100 or more. Parking will be available on game day for $20 (bus parking $30).
