Turri and Costabile Earn Preseason All-America Nods

DURHAM, N.C.-The duo of Justin Turri and CJ Costabile recently were voted to the 2011 Face-Off Yearbook Preseason All-America teams. Turri garnered second team recognition, while Costabile was an honorable mention pick.

Turri, a redshirt junior, returns after finishing fourth on the team in scoring in 2010. He registered 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points in 18 starts for the Blue Devils. Turri posted 12 multiple-point efforts a year ago, including scoring a season-best four points from three goals and an assist in the NCAA Semifinal victory over top-ranked Virginia. A midfielder, the native of West Islip, N.Y., owns 37 goals and 28 assists for 65 points in his career.

Costabile returns for his junior season after tallying the overtime game-winning goal that clinched the 2010 NCAA Championship for the Blue Devils. A longstick midfielder, Costabile helped anchor Duke's defense a season ago and contributed four goals and five assists to the attack. He also helped lead the Blue Devils at the faceoff X, winning 75-of-138 restarts for a .543 win percentage. In the NCAA title match against Notre Dame Costabile won 6-of-10 faceoffs, including the one to start overtime, and netted the game winner just five seconds into the extra session. A third-team All-America pick as a sophomore, the Fairfield, Conn., native has 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points and has won 124-of-105 faceoffs for a .541 career win percentage.

The Blue Devils kick off the 2011 season on Feb. 12 against Siena at Koskinen Stadium.
