Men's Lacrosse Receives National Championship Rings

DURHAM, N.C.-The 2010 Duke University men's lacrosse team was honored for its 2010 NCAA Championship at halftime of the Duke versus Boston College football game. The student-athletes earned their national championship rings in a ceremony earlier in the morning. Duke defeated Notre Dame, 6-5 in overtime to capture the program's first national title.

Duke was recognized as a team for not only its 2010 NCAA title, but also its outstanding record in the classroom. The Blue Devils landed an ACC-best 15 student-athletes on the annual All-ACC Academic squad, while senior Max Quinzani was selected to the ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-America first team.

Fifth-year senior Ned Crotty also was recognized for being named the 2010 Tewaaraton Trophy winner as the nation's top male lacrosse player and as the ACC Male Athlete of the Year. Overall Duke had five players earn All-America accolades, while head coach John Danowski was named the USILA National Coach of the Year.
