Crotty is coming off a career performance against North Carolina in the NCAA quarterfinal. The New Vernon, N.J., native registered a career-high eight points on two goals and six assists to lead Duke to its third consecutive appearance in championship weekend. He currently leads the nation in overall points (76) and assists (53). He was rewarded for his efforts, being named the LaXnews.com College Beat Player of the Week.
The third-seeded Blue Devils are 15-3 overall and will take on second-seeded Syracuse in the national semifinals on Saturday, May 23 at 12 p.m., in Foxborough, Mass. Duke is making its fifth appearance in the semifinals and fourth in the past five seasons.
Syracuse advanced to Foxborough with an 11-6 win over Maryland on May 16. The Orange is 14-2 overall on the year.
