DURHAM, N.C. - Coming off a stellar freshman campaign at Duke where she started 19 matches in goal for the Blue Devils, women's soccer standout Tara Campbell has been selected to train with the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team from Dec. 12-19.

The training session will take place in Sunrise, Fla., as Head Coach Jillian Ellis will use the camp to make some final decisions on a roster that will represent the United States at the CONCACAF U-20 Women's Qualifying Tournament that will send three nations to Germany for the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. The qualifying tournament will be held in Guatemala from Jan. 19-30, at the 17,000-seat Estadio Cementos Progreso.

Campbell, who is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, started 19 of the 21 matches for Duke in 2009. She compiled a 1.08 goals-against average, notched 94 saves and six shutouts. In the ACC stats, she ranked first in saves per game (4.95), first in saves (4.95), third in save percentage (.817), tied for sixth in shutouts (6) and eighth in goals-against average (1.08). Campbell also ranked 91st nationally in save percentage.

"I'm really excited to have an opportunity to train at the national level," said Campbell. "I've worked really hard to get to this point and I am excited that my hard work is finally paying off. It will be a great experience and I hope to make the most of it."

A second team All-ACC honoree, Campbell also received All-ACC Freshman Team, Soccer America Team of the Week and Duke/Nike Classic All-Tournament team accolades this past season.
