DURHAM, N.C. - Duke was ranked 13th in the latest womensfieldhockey.com poll and 14th in the Kookaburra/NFHCA poll released this afternoon.
The Blue Devils (9-8, 0-4 ACC) are coming off a weekend road trip to Ohio. Duke beat Ohio University, 1-0, on Saturday off a goal from sophomore Megan Deakins in the 17th minute of play. Junior goalie Samantha Nelson also recorded her second shutout of the year against the Bobcats. Duke was edged by Ohio State, 2-1, on Sunday. Freshman defender Abby Hassinger notched her second goal of the year against the Buckeyes, scoring in the 45th minute.
Maryland (17-0), North Carolina (15-1), and Virginia (15-2) retain the top three spots in both national polls. Wake Forest (10-5) is ranked fifth in the womensfieldhockey.com poll and sixth in the Kookaburra/NFHCA poll. Boston College (12-4) is listed ninth in each poll.
Princeton (12-2), Michigan State (14-3), Syracuse (15-2), Connecticut (16-2) and Drexel (15-2) fill out the top ten in both polls.
The Blue Devils complete their regular season this weekend against the No. 3 Virginia Cavaliers in Charlottesville on Oct. 31.
