DURHAM, N.C. ? The Duke Baseball Academy will hold two camps this winter at historic Jack Coombs Field. Duke will hold a Pitching and Position Play Camp on December 27 and a Hitting Camp on December 28.
The Pitching and Position Play Camp will stress the proper fundamentals in every facet of pitching, infield and outfield play. Each camper will be given the same instruction that has helped the Duke Blue Devils become the top fielding team in the nation. This camp will provide campers a chance to develop their skills through individual drills that concentrate on all aspects of pitching and position play that helped lead Duke to a top ten finish in ERA in the nation. This one day camp will also focus on teaching the proper pitching mechanics that will allow each camper to maximize his pitching ability.
The Hitting Camp stresses mechanics, mental approach and all fundamentals of hitting. Each camper will be given the same type of instruction that Duke Baseball players receive. Each hitter will have a chance to have his swing critiqued and evaluated.
Both the Pitching and Position Play Camp and the Hitting Camp are for ages 7-18 and will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The cost of each individual camp is $100. However, those wishing to attend both camps will save $25 as the cost of both camps is only $175.
To sign up for the Duke Baseball Academy camps, contact assistant coach and camp director Jonathan Anderson at (919) 684-2358 or janderson@duaa.duke.edu.
