DURHAM, N.C. - Inside Lacrosse has released Face-Off Yearbook's preseason conference rankings for the ACC and 2007 national runner-up Duke is picked to finish first, followed by Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland, as voted upon by the conference's coaches. All four teams also find themselves among IL's Top 10 nationally for 2008.
Last season, the Blue Devils bounced back in a big way thanks in large part to the front-line combination of Tewaaraton Trophy winner Matt Danowski and Zack Greer, who combined for 190 points on the season. Duke captured the ACC regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the national championship game for the second time in three years, as the Blue Devils concluded the 2007 season with a 17-3 overall ledger, matching the NCAA record for wins in a season set previously by the 2005 Duke, 2006 Hofstra and 2006 Virginia squads.
Face-Off Yearbook will be released on December 13 at the IMLCA Clinic in Philadelphia, Pa. The Yearbook features previews of every NCAA and NJCAA men's lacrosse team, spanning all DI, DII, DIII and JuCo squads, and contains rankings, pre-season All-Americas, All-Conference selections, strength of schedule analysis, stats and more. National and conference rankings and All-America selections will be released in the coming days.
Face-Off Yearbook is available for pre-order online now in the IL Shop on www.InsideLacrosse.com.
