Duke?s Varsity Eight Crew Takes 21st At Head Of The Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. ? The Duke varsity eight crew finished 21st out of 39 boats in the Championship Eights race at the 43rd Head of the Charles Sunday evening on the Charles River.
The Blue Devil squad of Meg Tobin (c), Gwen Coleman, Sara Couch, Laura Fisher, Lia Hart, Kate Kearney, Michelle Lancto, Emily Rothfield and Alison Sagar claimed their 21st-place finish with a time of 17:17.092, good enough for the 17th-best time among collegiate crews in the race.
Duke will next compete at the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Nov. 3-4, a two-day event with races taking place on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga, Tenn.
