
Carleton One Win Away from Qualifying for All-Americans Main Draw

Tulsa, Okla. ? Reid Carleton continued his impressive start to his freshman campaign on Tuesday with a victory and is now one win shy of qualifying for the main draw of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Carleton, who is ranked No. 114 in the preseason singles rankings, won for the second straight day and is now just one win away from qualifying for the tournament's main draw. He defeated Steven Forman of Wake Forest in straight sets 7-5, 6-2. Carleton has won his last five matches and is 7-2 in his freshman year. He will square off against Fresno State's Rudolf Siwy tomorrow at 9 a.m. to decide who advances to the main draw singles competition.
No. 109 Dylan Arnould bounced back from his Monday loss to earn a win in his consolation singles match. Arnould faced No. 124 Jason Jung of Michigan and won the tiebreaker in the second set to close out the 6-3, 7-6 (4) victory. The win for Arnould was his first over a ranked player this season. He improves to 2-4 on the year.
Kiril Dimitrov suffered his second straight loss of the tournament. He led his match against Colt Gaston of LSU after the first set with a 6-3 win, but Gaston rallied to force a super tiebreaker with a 6-4 second set victory. In the super tiebreaker Dimitrov could not regain the momentum, losing 10-4. Dimitrov now has an even record at 4-4 on the year.
The doubles team of Dimitrov and Carleton received a walk over in the first round of doubles qualifying. They moved on to the round of 32 where they would later lose to Davey Sandgren and John Patrick Smith of Tennessee, 8-5.
Wednesday's matches will decide who moves on to the All-American main draw, which begins Thursday and concludes on Sunday with the championship matches.
