- Duke dropped its first game vs.a I-AA opponent today. It entered the game with an 8-0 record vs. I-AA teams.
- Including today's contest, Duke leads the all-time series vs. Richmond, 9-2.
- Today's attendance was 27,456, Duke's largest opening day home crowd since drawing 30,224 vs. East Carolina on Sept. 2, 2000.
- Sophomore LB Michael Tauiliili had a team-best 11 tackles today vs. Richmond. It marked the fourth time in his last five games that he reached the 10-tackle plateau.
- Senior CB John Talley registered one pass breakup today and now has 26 in his career. The 26 PBUs are the sixth-most in Duke history. Immediately ahead in fifth place is Lamar Grant (1996-99) with 28.
