Headlined by first round choice Matt Zash, three former Duke players were selected in the 2006 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft held on Wednesday in Fairfield, Conn.
Zash was selected in the opening round with the sixth overall pick by the Philadelphia franchise. A two-time All-America midfielder at Duke, the Massapequa, N.Y., native helped the Blue Devils to an NCAA single-season record 17 wins and berth in the national championship game in 2005.
In the third round, former Duke midfielder Kyle Dowd was chosen by San Francisco with the 25th overall selection. One round later, former Blue Devil attackman Dan Flannery was chosen with the 35th pick by Chicago.
Rochester selected Maryland's Joe Walters with the top pick.
