DURHAM, N.C. -- Due to their performances at the USA Cross Country Championships in New York Feb. 18 and 19, Duke seniors Sally Meyerhoff and Shannon Rowbury have been invited to participate in the North America, Central America and Caribbean Cross Country Championships in Clermont, Fla., March 11. The Blue Devil pair will be two of five American women to compete in the senior race at the United States Triathlon National Training Center.
Meyerhoff and Rowbury are the youngest members of the USA squad that includes Rebecca Donaghue of State College, Pa., Collette Liss of Indianapolis and Mary Duerbeck of Lake Charles, La.
Rowbury finished 11th in the Senior Women's 4K at the USA Cross Country Championships Feb. 19, finishing in 13:02 as the first collegiate runner across the line and the youngest harrier among the top 47. Meyerhoff, competing in the Senior Women's 8K Feb. 18, clocked 28:02 to finish as the second collegiate runner and 15th overall.
Both Meyerhoff and Rowbury will run in the NACAC Senior Women's 4K Saturday.
