XC Teams Successful at Wolfpack Invitational

CARY, N.C. - The Duke men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Wolpack Invitational on Saturday at the SAS Soccer and Cross Country Complex in Cary, N.C.

The Blue Devil men swept the top-five places to defeat North Carolina, 15-44, as freshman Will Smith finished first in 15:23.73, followed by Patrick Parish, Jon Fox, Alex Reinhart and Marco Salmen. All five finished in a seven-second spread.

Duke was the only school to field a full squad in the women's race, as.freshman Shelley Forbes led the Blue Devils with a third-place overall finish in a time of 18:01.15, behind two N.C. State runners. Duke tallied 15 points as a team.

Next up for Duke will be the NCAA Southeast Regional, held in Louisville, Ky. on Nov. 11.
