? Today was the fourth meeting between Duke and Miami. It was just the second meeting between the two schools as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Miami leads the series, 3-1.
? Duke captains this afternoon were senior CB John Talley, junior C Matt Rumsey, senior DT Casey Camero and junior FS Chris Davis.
? CB John Talley made his fifth interception of the season and the 16th of his career in the third quarter. Talley is now tied for the Duke career interception lead with Rich Searl (1969-71) and tied for seventh in ACC history.
? Talley also added 17 yards to his career interception return yardage with his pick this afternoon. He now has 375 interception return yards, tops in both the ACC and among the Duke career charts.
? Freshman QB Thaddeus Lewis connected on a 54-yard pass to junior WR Jomar Wright in the second quarter to account for Duke's longest play from scrimmage this season. The previous high was a 47-yard TD pass from Lewis to Wright at Wake Forest on Sept. 9. The 54-yard pass established career longs for both Lewis and Wright.
? Wright established career highs with 10 catches and 176 receiving yards today.
? Lewis' 284 passing yards were the second-best total of his career. His career high was a 305-yard performance at Wake Forest on Sept. 9. He was 21-for-40 with one TD and four interceptions.
? Duke's defense was stellar against the run today vs. Miami. It limited the Hurricanes to 30 yards on 26 carries, including 12 carries for -19 yards in the second half.
? Sophomore WR Eron Riley had one catch for 18 yards this afternoon. He now has caught at least one pass in 13 straight games, currently the sixth-longest streak in the ACC.
? Sophomore WR Raphael Chestnut caught his first career touchdown pass today, an 11-yarder from Lewis with 10:16 remaining in the game.
? Redshirt freshman DT Norm Gee saw action on both sides of the ball today for Duke. Gee had his first career reception, a six-yarder from Thaddeus Lewis in the opening quarter. Gee made his first career start today at TE.
