Senior Ryan Blaum and junior Jake Grodzinsky had solid rounds on the final day of the Carpet Capital Collegiate, but the rest of the lineup was unable to conquer the difficult Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga. Blaum fired a one-under 71 for the second day in a row, while Grodzinsky posted an even-par 72. As a team the Blue Devils shot a 302 (+14) in the final round to finish tied for seventh with Tennessee. Duke and the Vols wrapped up the tournament at 16-over par (880).
Georgia State fired a five-under 283 in the final round to finished the three round event at eight-under (856) and post a one stroke victory over Florida. Georgia finished seven shots of the pace while Georgia Tech recorded a fourth place finish. Texas Tech was fifth, while Clemson finished six shots ahead of Duke and Tennessee.
Grodzinsky was the top finisher in the tournament for head coach Rod Myers. The Cornville, Ariz., native finished the event tied for seventh with a three-under 212. The top-10 finish was his fourth of the fall season. Grodzinsky, who entered the year without a top-10 showing, has a team-best nine rounds of even or under-par golf this fall.
Blaum recorded back-to-back rounds of 71 to crack the top-20 with a 19th place tie. He finished with a three-over 219 and now has seven rounds of under-par golf and four top-20 showings in four events.

Senior Nathan Smith and sophomore Michael Schachner posted a 79 and 81 respectively in the final round. Both players finished outside the top-50 at the Carpet Capital Classic.
