DURHAM, N.C. ? Blake Camp of the Duke men's soccer team has been named the Ronald McDonald House Charities Student-Athlete of the Week by the Duke Radio Network.
A senior midfielder from Danielsville, Ga., Camp was named the most valuable player of the ACC Tournament last Sunday, after Duke topped North Carolina for the 2005 league championship.
Camp scored a pair of goals in the Blue Devils' 4-2 semifinal win over top-ranked Maryland, then hit a critical penalty kick against the Tar Heels to help Duke win a shootout after the clubs had played to a 0-0 tie through regulation and two overtimes.
Camp and his Blue Devils then were seeded sixth in the NCAA Tournament and will open play by hosting a second round match on Tuesday, Nov. 22, vs. either Lafayette or Creighton.
