DURHAM, N.C. - Junior center Shelden Williams scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Blue team past the White squad, 69-43, in Duke's annual Blue-White Scrimmage held on Saturday night in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The Blue unit jumped out to a 15-3 advantage behind eight points from junior guard J.J. Redick, who scored 15 of his 17 points in the opening half as Blue led at intermission, 34-22.
Williams, who made 11-of-16 field goals on the night, scored 16 points in the second half as the Blue team pushed the lead to as many as 31 points. Junior guard Sean Dockery, who logged eight assists against zero turnovers on the evening, joined Redick and Williams in double figures for Blue by connecting on seven-of-eight field goal attempts and both of his free throws for 16 points.
For the White squad, senior guard Daniel Ewing led the way with 17 points and four assists while junior forward Shavlik Randolph chipped in 15 points.
