Sarah Slattery, Baltimore Md
Hello, my name is Sarah Slattery I graduated from St. Paul's in the year 2000. And while I don't know that Francoise remembers me because I was a few years younger than her, I remember her vividly (since I was the under classmen looking up to the "upperschoolers")she was always receiving various awards, such as the varsity sash. I also remember her as a good student as well, always getting her named called for honor roll, and being a member of the national honors society. While, Francoise and I never really knew each other well, I still wanted to say the best of luck to everyone in the situation, and know that I will be keeping everyone involved, in my prayers. I wish that I could find more uplifting words in this difficult time, but I just thought it might be nice to know that someone was thinking of all of you. Good luck with everything, Sarah Slattery

Dear Francoise and family,
My name is Emily Nelson, and I just graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. My boyfriend is from Baltimore, and I met Francoise 3 years ago while visiting his family. We immediately hit it off and have kept in touch over the past three years. I just wanted to write and tell you that you are in my thoughts and prayers. From only spending time with Francoise on a few occasions, I know she is a kind, funny, genuine, and spirited person. With God's help, I know that all of you will make it through this difficult time.
Much love, Emily

Laura Sell (Chicago, IL, Durham, NC, and Baltimore, MD)
I was in Francoise's graduating class at SPSG and she is one of those people whom I especially look forward to seeing at SPSG alum functions (and even at the airport as I leave for Northwestern and she for Duke!). She and I seem to have swapped places this summer: I left Chicago in June to work at Duke for the summer and she basically did the reverse...this is my first summer not in Chicago since I graduated and, although I was initially excited about living in a new place for a few months, I honestly wish I had stayed again this summer. For my days off from teaching (between sessions), I will be going back to Chicago from July 1st (Sunday) until the 5th (Thursday). I would really like to visit Francoise and/or your family to offer my support. Both my older sister and one of my childhood best friends suffered from severe brain injuries...I'm not going to write that I "understand what you're going through"- I don't think anyone can say that to another person: our reactions and emotions are unique to each of us, however, I do know how important it is to have a solid network of support. If you have a chance, please e-mail me at l-sell@northwestern.edu and let me know what I can do. Even if it's just telling you where the best restaurants in Chicago are located or to give you a ride somewhere. If she is receiving visitors, I would love to bring her a gift and some familiar things from our high school days. And, finally, I would like you to know that both my friend and my sister, who was in a coma for a very long time as a result of a car accident, both had full recoveries, you would have absolutely no idea today that either went through the traumatic events that they did. You and Francoise are in my (and my family's) thoughts and prayers. take care, Laura

Judy Ensor. Monkton. MD
Hi. I learned of your accident from SPSFG. I graduated way back when (1979)and remember my time at St. Paul's with great fondness. I played field hockey, lacrosse and basketball back in the day--those were the only varsity sports available. Just want you to know that I'm thinking of you. Surely, your competitive spirit and the love of your friends and family will help you through this. Perhaps it will also help to know that total strangers have you in their thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery. JCE
