"I'm really pleased with the way we played overall considering it's the game right before Christmas and I think everybody's anxious and excited to get home. I thought we had good energy and we maintained our focus for the most part considering the fact that we had a pretty large lead."
On the difference in Duke's field goal percentage in each half: "We stopped trapping. I think part of our high field goal percentage was because we got so many steals in the first half. We really got out on the break well. Then in the second half, we didn't want to trap as much with a big lead. We didn't press at all in the full court. We went from our man's into our zones to work on our zones and to take a little bit of the pressure off. There wasn't the same type of pressure, so we didn't get as many tips or steals. We were executing more in the quarter court. They went exclusively to their 2-3 zone in the second half, so we were getting more looks from the outside than layups."
Duke's Sheana Mosch
On her first few shots in the game: "In the first half we were getting a lot of steals and that just opened to a lot of fast breaks, and I'm the one that was up so I got to shoot a lot of layups."
On how difficult it is to be on a quiet campus: "I'm used to it. I know a lot of the players are little antsy today and couldn't wait to get home, but I think we did a good job of staying focused. It's (the campus) pretty quiet and we're the only team around here now."
Liberty Head Coach Carey Green
"We tip our hats off to Duke. They've got an extremely good team. They're playing much better than they have in the beginning of the year. They continue to get better each game. They probably beat us in every key practical area that's important to win."
On the amount of turnovers Liberty committed in the first half: "I don't want to take away from Duke, but our team's been doing that. We talk about it. I don't know if talking about it is making it worse or not. When you're behind 25-5 or 25-2, it obviously puts you in a hole really quick. We basically did it to ourselves, not to take away from Duke-we make the pass that's not away from the defense, they tip it and they're into a transition offense. Basically, we look back and see two things. We see we're not running an offense because we're turning the ball over and two, they're not running an offense either because they're shooting the layups and shooting super-high percentage. It's hard to defend when you're chasing someone down from behind because they got transition layups."
Liberty's Kristal Tharp
On how the Liberty players felt coming into the game: "I think it was our mind frame. I think we came into the game scared and nobody was playing their game. Once we started to play our game and do what we knew we could do with the ability God has given us, but I think that kind of got us out of it a little bit."
