GREENVILLE, S.C. (November 13) -- The Duke women's and men's cross country teams placed third and fourth in their respective divisions at the Southeast Region Cross Country Championships. The top two teams and top four individuals from both the men's and women's divisions automatically advance to the NCAA Cross Country championships on November 20th at Iowa State University. The rest of the 31 men's and women's teams will be selected at large on November 15 from the nine regions. The NCAA will select a total of 31 seven-member teams along with 38 at-large individuals.
No Duke teams or individuals qualified automatically but the Blue Devil men's and women's teams put themselves in position to qualify for at-large qualification.
ACC Freshman of the Year Sheela Agrawal topped the Blue Devil contingent with a 10th place finish (17:40 time) in the women's competition followed by Megan Sullivan's 12th place finish in 17:43. Terry Brennan completed the men's 10,000-meter course in 30:44, good for a 15th place finish while Charlie Kelly notched 19th place with a 30:55 time.
