Gabby Simons enters her third season with the Duke rowing team this year after graduating from the University of Wisconsin in the spring of 2019.
In 2021, Simons helped the Blue Devils earn a bid to the NCAA Championships for the third time in program history, while also winning silver at the ACC Championship in May.
Prior to Duke, Simons was a four-year rower for the Badgers, and was coached by current Blue Devil head coach Megan Cooke Carcagno her freshman year. Simons won multiple Big-Ten medals, raced at the NCAA Championships four times, including twice in the 2V8+ and one in the V4+, winning the petite final her junior year to finish seventh in the nation.
Simons was named Big-Ten All Academic three times and was a five time member of the Dean's List.Â
She graduated with a double major in Kinesiology and Physical Education from Wisconsin and currently is in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Duke and will graduate in 2022.Â
