Mason Cathey joined the Duke staff in July of 2006. She will work primarily with the women's middle distance and distance runners during the track and field season, and will work directly with head women’s cross country coach Kevin Jermyn during the cross country season.
Cathey graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor of science in Exercise and Sport Science in December of 2004, and expects to complete her masters degree, also from Florida, in August of 2006. While at Florida, she was a memeber of two SEC Championship Track and Field teams.
In high school, Cathey was a 1999 Footlocker finalist. She has most recently spent the summer as an intern at the offices of the USATF in Indianapolis, the governing body for the sport of track and field in the United States.
