Trey Hicks joined the Duke Athletics staff in 2025 as a McLendon Fellow. In this role, he supports the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for People, Culture & Community and assists with special projects for the Duke Athletics executive staff. His fellowship includes rotational experiences across multiple departments, including External Affairs, the Iron Dukes, Duke Future Initiatives and Athletics Facilities and Game Operations. He also supports the marketing team with promotional efforts for the field hockey program.

A native of Crestwood, Ky., Hicks earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Longwood University in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in real estate, also from Longwood, with expected completion in 2025.

While at Longwood, Hicks was a four-year member of the men’s basketball team and served as team captain, earning Big South All-Academic Team honors. He was also actively involved in campus leadership through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Student Philanthropy Council. Hicks gained additional experience as an intern with the Longwood Small Business Development Center, where he supported financial analysis and business operations for local entrepreneurs.
