Jen McCollum joined the Duke athletic medicine staff in July of 1995 and currently serves as an Associate Athletic Trainer. She was promoted from her previous role at Duke as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in July of 2018. McCollum has been a member of Duke Athletics for 25 years and growing!
Her primary responsibilities include working with the women's lacrosse, men's and women's cross country and women’s golf programs. McCollum is a Hilo, Hawaii, native and she is Graston I & II certified.
During her time at Duke, she has been a part of seven NCAA Final Four appearances with the women’s lacrosse team (1999, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2015) as well as the Blue Devils’ first ACC title in 2005. McCollum was a key part of the success of the 2019 NCAA women’s golf championship team, while also helping the 2015 and 2016 squads to the NCAA Final Four. In 1998, she was with Vanessa Webb when she won the NCAA outdoor singles championship for tennis, while the team finished as runner-up.
McCollum graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a master’s of science in athletic training degree. Prior to gaining her master’s degree at UNC, she earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
While at North Carolina, she was a part of the 1994 and 1995 women’s soccer NCAA Championship teams.
She has been a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association since 1990.
