Upcoming Event: Women's Golf versus Windy City Collegiate Classic on September 29, 2025

Brad Sparling enters his second year as the assistant coach for both the men's and women's golf teams. In his first season, Sparling helped the men’s program to its first ACC Championship since 1966 and its best NCAA Championship finish in 43 years. On the women’s side, he was part of the program’s third NCAA National Championship and its 10th consecutive ACC title.
Sparling assists both the men's and women's teams in player development, recruiting and day-to-day operations of each program.
Previously, Sparling had been an assistant golf professional at Duke University Golf Club since 2001. During his tenure, he has supervised daily golf operations, supervised outside staff, coordinated and managed tournament events, and taught individual and group lessons.
An accomplished player and teaching professional, Sparling has enjoyed tournament success in professional events throughout the Carolinas section of the PGA.
“We are very lucky to have Brad as our assistant coach,” said Head Coach Rod Myers. “He is a fine player and a great teacher of the game and he genuinely cares for the kids on our team. He is one of the most outstanding young coaches in college golf.”
Prior to his appointment as Assistant Professional at Duke University Golf Club, Sparling enjoyed a successful business career, including experience as a Business Owner, Financial Consultant and Director of Finance.
Sparling played his collegiate golf at Guilford College, where he earned a degree in economics. He is also a graduate of Durham Academy, the same high school attended by current Blue Devil freshman Bryce Mueller.
Sparling resides in Chapel Hill with his wife, Suzie, and their three children, Jack, Nicholas and Emma.
