In three years on the Duke cross-country team, Champi has been a consistent top-5 scorer and has made trips to the NCAA Championships in 1998 and 2000. He made great progress from high school where he had never broken 9:00 for 3,000-meters. At Duke, Champi has run 14:44.13 for 5,000-meters and 31:21.13 for 10,000-meters. He Red-shirted the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2001. He is healthy and ready to go for his senior campaign in cross-country for 2001.
