Prep: Bierbaum was a very successful cross country runner for The Groton School in Mass., winning the I.S.L. Cross Country Chamionship all four years of high school. Bierbaum’s most visible accomplishment came at the 2001 Foot Locker Northeast Regional where she finished ninth. Bierbaum has never run track as she played tennis for her high school each spring.
