The owner of more All-East honors than any other runner in Duke history with six, Spierdowis returns in 2003 with outdoor eligibility and the chance to add more honors to his impressive collection.Spierdowis anchored the school record 4X800-meter relay that ran 7:28.00 at the 2002 IC4A Outdoor Championships with a 1:51.7 split.His best 800 split was a 1:50.5 carry on the Duke DMR that captured the 2002 Duke Invite in 9:46.59.Spierdowis has run on the top four outdoor and top two indoor 4X800’s in school history. In the DMRSpeirdowis has run on the first and third-fastest all-time relays.In addition to his relay prowess, Spierdowis also owns an indoor mile best of 4:10.24 (first, 2002 Penn State Invite) and the No. 4 1,000-meter mark of 2:27.23.He is also owner of the Duke school indoor record in the 800 at 1:52.30.Spierdowis placed fourth in the ACC indoor mile in 2002 and anchored the third place (first among college teams) 4X800 relay for Duke at the 2002 Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden in New York.
