Junior: Indoors, ran two sub-49 clockings in the open 400 but was most spectacular as the anchor leg on the school record setting 4X400 relay, which ran 3:16.17 at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., to take down a Duke standard that had stood for nine years ... the same foursome, with King running second leg, clocked 3:16.25 at the IC4A indoor meet in Boston, just missing the final ... King came back the next day on the Duke distance medley to run the 400 leg, where he earned All-East honors for a second time in that event ... outdoors, King lowered his 200m personal best at the Duke Invite, covering the half-lap in 21.74 to qualify him for the IC4As in that event ... the next day, King broke 48 seconds for the first time with a 47.95 ... two weeks later at the ACC Championships came his big break-through 400, as he took his personal best all the way down to 47.31, the third fastest-time in the ACC prelims and the No. 2 all-time clocking in Duke history ... despite running only 48.17 in the ACC final to place 8th, King was the first Duke quarter-miler in an ACC final since 1990 ... after anchoring the Duke 4X400 to a season-leading 3:14.33 clocking at the Penn Relays (No. 5 all-time at Duke) King came back two hours later to run the 400 leg on the Blue Devil sprint medley which ran 3:28.74 ( No. 4 all-time at Duke) to alter his second all-time list in one day ... capped his junior season outdoors by running sub-48 a third time (47.71) to reach the IC4A final and earn All-East honors in the 400 for the first time ...
Sophomore: Finished seventh at the outdoor ACC Championship in the 400m ... qualified outdoors for the IC4A Championships in the 400m with a time of 48.14 ... anchored the fourth-best all-time Duke 4x400m relay team and Duke’s second all-time 4x100m relay team ... ran the 400m on the DMR team that ran the fifth-best time in Duke history ...
Freshman: Named the Blue Devils’ Freshman of the Year during indoor season ...set the Duke indoor record in the 400m with an IC4A-qualifying time of 48.63, while also qualifying for IC4As in the 200m ... earned indoor All-East honors as a member of Duke’s seventh-place DMR team, while also helping to set the school record of 9:42.88 in the DMR at the NYU Fastrack Meet ... outdoors, qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 400m with a team-leading time of 48.01, which ranks third on Duke’s all-time list ... member of the Blue Devils top 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, sprint medley and distance medley relays in 2004 ...
Prep: Massachusetts state indoor record holder in the 300m ... anchored winning 4x400m relay at the New England Championships and placed second in the open 400m in 48.96.
