Shaun Cook joined the Duke football staff in January 2022, and currently serves as a scouting assistant.

Prior to coming to Durham, Cook served the 2021 season as the assistant director of player personnel at the University of Connecticut. During his time in Storrs, Cook identified and evaluated prospective athletes for the coaching and personnel staff. He also managed all recruiting areas and positions for the defensive coaching staff.

Before joining the Huskies staff, Cook served a one-year stint (2020) as a CSIS support and statistics quality assurance for the National Football League. His main responsibilities included auditing, verifying, and entering live play-by-play statistics during NFL games and reviewing and correcting statistical discrepancies based on the NFL rulebook and guide for statisticians.

Cook spent the 2019 season as a football personnel and recruiting intern at Vanderbilt University. While in Nashville, he provided and organized recruiting databases and identified, evaluated, and cut film of prospective athletes for the coaches and personnel staff.

Cook graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in recreation and sport management. While working toward his degree, Cook served as a football personnel and recruiting student assistant for three seasons with the Volunteers.
