Lane Smith transitioned into the role of IT Analyst at Duke in 2024. Before this shift, he served as the football video coordinator for Duke starting in August 2022.
Prior to his tenure at Duke, he was the video coordinator at Georgia State University for the 2021 season, where his responsibilities included overseeing a student staff of seven, managing daily coaches' film and maintaining the team's XOS football technology server.
Smith earned a bachelor's degree in sports management from North Carolina State University in 2021. He built his experience in sports technology as a student video assistant from 2018-20 and as a football video intern during the summer of 2020.
