Josh Cooper joined the Duke Athletic Department in July, 2013 and serves as a Football Operations Assistant, working primarily with the Blue Devil defensive unit. He spent the 2013 season as a member of the Sports Performance staff.
Prior to coming to Durham, Cooper served as a defensive line coach at Hampden-Sydney College during the 2012 season.
Cooper spent eight years in the NFL, UFL and NFL Europe as a defensive end. He started his professional career with the San Francisco 49ers in 2004 and also spent time with the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints.
A native of Marietta, Ga., Cooper graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2004 with a degree in psychology. He was a four-year letterwinner at Ole Miss, earning Defensive MVP honors at the 2004 Cotton Bowl.
