Jonae Benson joined the Duke football staff in September 2023, and currently serves as the associate director of football recruitment.
Â
Prior to joining the Blue Devils, Benson served one season as the recruiting and operations coordinator for the University of South Carolina. In this role, she oversaw all planning and facilitation of on-campus recruiting events, as well as official and unofficial visits.

Before joining the Gamecocks staff, Benson served as a fueling station operations manager at UNC Charlotte for two seasons. While with the 49ers, she helped coordinate nutrition operations in the fueling station, at practice, gameday and during travel in collaboration with the head football dietitian.

In addition, Benson collaborated with the 49ers' director of performance and strength staff to organize and improve nutrition resources and education during the summer of 2019.

Benson graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2020 with a dual bachelor of arts degree in psychology and exercise and sport science. She is currently pursuing a master of science in athletic leadership from Clemson. During her time as an undergraduate, Benson served as a sports nutrition intern and was a member of the Harmonyx A Cappella Group.
